"bye bye caca"
WOW
Raise your hand if you had a wonderful week... 🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️
GOOD:
- This week we went on a fun exchange with Elder Ediger. He is a great missionary and we got to be with him from Monday evening until Wednesday afternoon! From him I learned the importance of outwardly expressing joy! He is very good at that and I can continue to improve. We talked with so many people and taught a few lessons as a trio which was super lit. We would've loved to keep Elder Ediger but he had to go back with his companions haha.
- This week I got to conduct a baptismal interview for a new member in the ASL branch. That was the first time I interviewed a member of the deaf community and it was super cool. I had an interpreter sit next to me who helped us be able to communicate! I love being a missionary.
- We met a large family this week who received us and let us begin teaching them. The household has 9 children under the age of 16 and the parents living there. They were able to watch a bit of Conference and we were able to teach them a bit. Turns out the mom is actually a member of the church?! Miracles. The gospel blesses families!!! As we left their home one evening the youngest boy yelled out to us "bye bye caca!!!" and then starts laughing. He is super funny.
- I had the WONDERFUL opportunity to sit with Presidente Larreal this week for interviews. He is such an amazing human being!!! Heavenly Father has his eye on McAllen Texas and Presidente and I were able to discuss all the miracles happening in the mission and how we can all become better instruments in the Lord's hands. I love the Larreal's. They have taught me SOOOOO much.
BETTER:
- One of my coolest new friends this week is named ... ELDER. How crazy is that? We met this guy mowing his lawn and he was able to watch General Conference with us. We called him after the Saturday evening session and he was so anxious to watch on Sunday to be able to listen to the living Prophet. Super cool!
- I am grateful for the Sanchez family. They are so amazing and treat us like angels. This week we got to watch General Conference with them and Gloria. Gloria loved it!!! This family has such an amazing spirit with them and I am so grateful we get to know them and be a part of teaching Gloria the gospel of Jesus Christ! They have become like family to us!
- This weekend was so full of miracles! I am so excited about all the amazing opportunities we will have to teach those people who watched General Conference. I will say that this was probably the most chaotic General Conference weekend of my life but I wouldn't have had it any other way. We got to watch the final session of General Conference outside a new member's home with their family. They set up a small TV outside and connected the extension cord into the house by opening the side window. There were chickens and dogs running around while we listened to General Conference. This was the perfect way to finish a wonderful RGV General Conference. I LOVE IT HERE.
BEST
¡Piensen de manera celestial!
I think that President Nelson said exactly what we all needed to hear.
I am grateful for a living prophet! I know the messages shared at General Conference came from our Heavenly Father. I invite you all to review the talks given at General Conference this past weekend!
That is all for today. I am so grateful to be a missionary! This is the best thing I have ever done.
