Hey, I don't know about you...
Buenas tardes!
#CorpusporCristo
GOOD:
- Last preparation day my district played some mini golf! This was a super fun way to spend our day off. I even walked away with the W. The mini golf place was called Treasure Island mini golf and I would highly recommend it to anyone. On our way home we stopped by the beach and got to enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean. Corpus Christi is such a beautiful place!
- This week I got to go on 2 more exchanges with elders in the zone! The first exchange was with Elder Carver. He is awesome! We had a great time together in his area and saw a lot of success. I loved that he was so eager to learn and asking questions throughout the whole day! The next exchange was with Elder Baker and the highlight was definitely when we were in McDonalds for Spanish study and a worker brought us a free ice cream cone. He is a great missionary and I enjoyed working with him as well!
- The ward had a corn hole tournament this week as an activity and Elder Rhineer and I had a great time strengthening our relationship with the members in the ward! We even beat bishop and his wife so watch out for when I come home.
BETTER:
- We saw some miracles this week. Which was much needed! One such miracle is Skyla and her family. The story of how we found Skyla is so full of twists and turns that you will just have to ask me about her when I get home! But, she is amazing! Skyla and her 3 daughters came to a lesson at the church with a member family on Wednesday and then all came to church and loved it!!! The ward was just amazing at making their first Sunday a success. Skyla is working towards being baptized mid-month! She is excited to join the Lord's kingdom once again established on the Earth! This week I learned that miracles come when we are patient and stay diligent!
- Another miracle was meeting our friend Al. Al has been through so much in his life and has already learned to recognize that focusing on Jesus Christ brings blessings. It was so refreshing to be welcomed into someone's home and have a spirit led lesson with them. Al opened up to us and in return we were able to share something of the utmost importance with him - The Book of Mormon. Al says we came to him just at the right time and is excited to learn the doctrine of the restoration and grow closer to Jesus Christ! Stay tuned for more updates on Al!
- Finally, I just want to publicly thank my Heavenly Father for all the good people we met this week! This week of my mission we were able to find the highest number of interested people to begin teaching than any other week in my mission! These blessings were definitely balanced with some of the most difficult contacts of my mission with some of the most unkind people I have ever met but... opposition in all things right? July is going to be a month of miracles and growth! Corpus Christi is not ready for all that God has in store for them. Thank you all for your prayers and continued support, this is the greatest work!
- I got the chance to baptize Savy this week. He is awesome.
BEST:
"Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness"
Are you anxiously engaged in a good cause?
One of the most valuable lessons I have learned as a missionary is that joy that comes from being anxiously engaged in a good cause! When we work hard and do many good things out of our own free will... we are happier and more good things come our way! I am so grateful to be a missionary today and everyday. I invite you all to find a way to be anxiously engaged in a good cause this week.
"Work Hard, Keep the Commandments, Have a Positive Attitude and Show Gratitude."
Be a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
